Case Study: St Barnabas Community Centre and Church, Danesmoor

Friday 9th November 2007 marked the official opening of the new St Barnabas Church and Community Centre at Danesmoor, near Clay Cross in Derbyshire for Danesmoor Management Group.

The new £1.0 million facility was constructed by our Baggaley Maintain team and features a new main hall, reception and community area, together with office and teaching facilities. The traditional brickwork building will be used by the local community, church and schools for a variety of functions and has been completed to a very high standard of workmanship.

The project has attracted a lot of interest from the various stakeholders, and pupils from the St Barnabas pre-school had visited the site with school manager Margaret Smart during the construction phase to learn about the dangers of construction sites, and to see for themselves the facilities they will now be able to use.

Completed in October 2007, the project has been site managed by Craig Smallman, with Richard Edis as Projects Manager. Richard said of the completed project, “We understand how important the finished building will be to the community, especially the children at St Barnabas Pre-School. We have greatly enjoyed working alongside our client and being welcomed by the people of Danesmoor, and hope that the finished building will become an important facility for the benefit of the community for many years to come. ”
