Winner – RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2010

    Silver Award

    Baggaley is celebrating winning one of the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards in 2010.

    The Silver award was presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on 12th May 2010 and recognises Baggaley’s excellence in work-related health and safety performance and robust health and safety management systems.

    Baggaley place great importance on the Health and Safety of our employees, sub-contractors, visitors and the general public. Having the right policies, procedures, audits and training in place ensures that we address all potential risks to prevent accidents.

    TDavid Rawlins, RoSPA’s Awards Manager, said: “Herbert Baggaley Construction Limited has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Organisations which do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that’s where the RoSPA Awards come in.”

Winner – Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards 2010

    Silver Awards

    Baggaley is celebrating after being presented with two Silver Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards at a ceremony at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester on 21st April 2010.

    The first award was received for the £12 million SportPark project for Loughborough University with the second award recognising the Fit-Out Works at the SportPark facility for the Amateur Swimming Association.

    The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a national initiative aimed at improving the image of the construction industry and the National Site Awards are given to only the highest scoring 7.5% of sites across the UK.

    Mark Greasby, Project Manager for both projects, said: “We are delighted to be receiving these awards. The Awards recognise the excellent standards of consideration towards our workforce, the neighbours of the site and the environment which formed an integral part of the delivery of both projects. It is a credit to everybody involved.”

Winner- CIOB Committed to Construction in the East Midlands Awards 2010

    Sustainability Award

    Baggaley Construct has been awarded the CIOB Committed to Construction in the East Midlands Awards 2010 for Excellence & Quality and Sustainability for their flagship SportPark project at Loughborough University.

    The awards were presented at a prestigious dinner at the Leicester Marriott Hotel on 12th March 2010.

    Mark Greasby, Project Manager of the award-winning project, was at the dinner to collect the award and was joined by Martin Channell from client Loughborough University and Andy Mytom from David Morley Architects.

    Speaking after the event, Mark said “We are delighted to have won these awards. It is a great accolade which celebrates a quality project and the commitment of all team members.”

    The awards for both Excellence & Quality and Sustainability recognises qualities in the Loughborough SportPark project such as leadership, creativity and a willingness to try new ideas

    SportPark, a £12m landmark building at the west entrance of the Loughborough University campus, is home to sports organisations including British Swimming, the Amateur Swimming Association and UK Sport and will become a key national hub for sports development and a centre for sharing, innovation and creative working.

Winner- CIOB Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards 2009

  • East Herringthorpe Crematorium, Rotherham

    Excellence and Quality Award

    Baggaley Construct has been awarded the CIOB Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Award for Excellence and Quality for their work at East Herringthorpe Crematorium, Rotherham.

    The award, presented at a prestigious dinner at Sheffield City Hall on 16th October 2009, recognises the high quality of work reflected in the sensitive refurbishment to modernise the facilities at East Herringthorpe Crematorium.

    Christian White, Project Manager on the award-winning project said “We are delighted to have won this award and it is a testimony to the skill and dedication of our project team to have been recognised by industry peers.” Pictured right is Baggaley’s Framework Manager Des Moore receiving the award from Tom Smith, Managing Director of award sponsors, Construction4Me.
